April Fool's Day

I thought about what I can do this year to torture the kids. This year I decided to get my kids up 2 hrs early for school. I woke them up at 6 AM and told them they were late...late...late for school.

My oldest, Jeylan, didn't believe me and went back to sleep right away - loves her sleep too much.

My youngest, Koray, asked if he had time to go to the bathroom - when I told him "NO", he said "but mom I really have to go." I said "nope, you have no time, you have to get dressed and eat breakfast and have to catch the bus in 10 minutes."

He looked so stressed that I caved and told him I was just pulling a prank and of course he can go to the bathroom. He just looked at me with I-can't-believe-you-just-did-that look and said "awww man" and went back to bed.

I said "hey don't you have to go to the bathroom", he said it can wait until 8 AM and asked me to buy him a whoopee cushion from the dollar store so he can prank his sister after school.

Game Day

The birthday went great. My hubby made his own birthday dinner..... I was prepared to make him dinner or take him out but he beat me to it. He wanted a nice quiet time at home. I picked up the cake on my way home from work, we had dinner, gave him presents, ate cake and then went in the hot tub for a bit.

He is very lucky that yesterday was his birthday or he would of been in trouble. As I mentioned, I drove in to work yesterday and when I went into the car I noticed that he had spilled coffee in the cup holder and he had taken my mirror decoration, which is a little furry koala, down. The worse part was that he put the furry koala in the cup holder, so now my furry little gray koala is coffee stained. So I have made couple of new rules:

Rule #1 - no eating in my car
Rule #2 - no drinking in my car
Rule #3 - Do not touch the Koala
Rule #4 - do not chew gum in my car
and finally Rule #5 - do not leave garbage in my car

Today is the Raptors game - I am looking forward to it. It is going to be a long day.

Start of a Brand New Adventure

OK - so I now officially opened/created a blog to record my daily adventures. I have been meaning to do this for a while now but just never had the time.

Actually, I have been nagging my husband to create us a family website and as a part of that website I would have my own blog spot. However, after waiting and waiting and waiting (apparently my husband is very busy), I finally decided to do it myself. If someday our family website gets created, I will move all this over.

One of my main reasons for wanting to do this is that my memory is not what it used to be so I figured the best way to keep all memories organized would be to blog about them. The thing is sometimes the silliest or the most odd situations tend to find me and this will be my spot to share them with people.

As we recently moved out to Milton (which I am loving by the way), I have stopped driving in to work and now GO train it in. I only drive on "special" occasions and Tuesdays as I have to be at my workout session for 7 AM.

Today is a Tuesday and I have the car - as well today is my husband's birthday and I have to pick up cake on my way home. I have been driving him nuts with my hints for his gift. He will never be able to guess and since he doesn't know about this blog yet I can tell you what I got him - this is in addition to the Honda VTX1300R Motorcycle we bought for him over the weekend.

The clues I have given him are:
(1) Can't use it on the day I give it to him (which will be tonight)
(2) Can't be used for an extended period of time
(3) It does expire
(4) Cannot be returned/non-refundable

So far he said my clues have not been helpful!!! LOL - I wasn't giving clues to be helpful, I was giving them to completely throw him off. I guess it worked.

What I did get him are courtside tickets to the Toronto Raptors vs Utah Jazz game for tomorrow night. Both teams have Turkish players on them so he should enjoy it.

Koray received his report card yesterday - improved but not up to my total standards. He is a smart cookie but absolutely does not like taking time out from his "relax" time to do homework :)

Jeylan is supposed to get her report card sometime this week. Hopefully it is a good one, she has worked very hard.

This is it for today..not much else to report on my first try
